The men warmed up the weekend by doing a little shopping to get the cardio going. Then they checked out Wilf Kozub's (Zoe's dad) artshow for a little mental training. After all that tiring shopping and walking around, they stopped for a nutrition break before heading to the climbing wall. Climbing went very well. Motivation was high, and lots of great problems were made. Nels finished off the session with a little rope ladder. Zoe unfortunately had to sit out with a crappy ankle. She's still recovering from surgery (arthoscopic debridement), and will be on the physio tip for a while still. She's registered to "compete" at the PCA, but will only be climbing the first few low moves of each problem (for those valuable overall tour season points). We're all totally pschyed and can't wait for the comp. It'll be worth the two day drive for sure! |

The Teknik Team did well with a 3rd place finish in the Triple Team event. Must've been all the Teknik holds up on the walls... The 1st Teknik pro-model hold also made it's first appearance: the NKR1 carved by pro climber Nels Kristoff Rosaasen himself. (It got used in every round, including the Final Men's problem that Nels flashed to win the comp!). The new Teknik Pinchtite also made it's glorious debut and was used in every round too. Team Teknik has been training pretty hard for this comp, check out the pix! Please note: When you look at these photos and read the titles, do so with an Arnold Schwarzenegger accent.

Teknik threw Timy Fairfield a box of holds to set with at the Gorge Games. He must've used a couple of them, because our boy Nellie won (against a stacked field)! Wow, nice one buddy. |
